Janis Laking

I have been in business most of my life and have over 20 years+ Chiropractic experience. As a mature student I became a chiropractor after I hurt my back and had given up hope of ever being well again. I had to have six months of chiropractic treatment to get me back on my feet again. I could not work during this time and had no mobility which had a massive impact on my life. When my Chiropractor got me well again, (forever grateful), I just knew I had to study this for real and help other people get out of pain too.

I was initially living in Scotland and made my way to Bournemouth to study at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic. After graduating in 1996 I started my first clinic in Southbourne, Bournemouth where we also had a GP and Homoeopath. In 1996 I worked in a GP’s Surgery part-time and part-time in Wincanton. In 1999 I worked as a Chiropractor for the NHS in Bournemouth and remained there part-time for 12 years establishing good relationships with the GP’s. Outgrowing the Southbourne Clinic, we moved premises to Castle Lane West, and not long after that we had to move again to bigger premises at the other end of Castle Lane West, where we are now.

I love treating everyone, no matter what their age, its never too late! I see every day what a difference Chiropractic treatment makes to their lives. Many, like me had given up hope of being well and came for treatment as a last resort. I think this is a gift to be given to as many people as possible. I also spend time training chiropractic graduates and helping other chiropractors with their business. In my personal time I love to refurbish properties and design the interiors. I met my husband whilst training to be a Chiropractor, and we have a beautiful son who is now an Airline Pilot.
